PURPOSE:To pick up the electric output signal of atomic beam tube from the collector plate and electron multiplier and to enable to remove the lowering in the output, by constituting the unit with the ionized ribbon, metal collector plate, magnet for mass analysis and electron multiplier. CONSTITUTION:The neutral cesium atomic beam 3 from the atomic beam source is ionized at the inoized ribbon 11, and the cesium ions ionized are attracted to the metal collector plate 12 lower in potential than the bias voltage fed to the ionized ribbon 11. A part of the cesium ions passes through the slit provided at the center of collector plate 12. The impurity ions other than the cesium ions are removed at the mass analysis magnet 13 and give to the electron multiplier 14. On the other hand, the cesium ions collected on the collector plate 12 are introduced outside the atomic beam tube as the beam current and picked up as the electric output signal. Further, the cesium ions emitted to the electron multiplier 14 produce secondary electrons, which are picked up outside the tube as the electric output signal.
