Cyclohexane(I) was oxidized to cyclohexanone and/or cyclohexanol by 0 at 155-60≦̸ and 9-10kg/cm2 in the presence of Co salts and in the absence of boric acid derivs., with subsequent sepn. and recyclin of unreacted I. Prior to the oxidn. step H2O was removed from I by azeotropic distn., etc. and this prevented the dirtying of the reactor and 0 escape.
