1276044 Clamps THOMAS & BETTS CORP 16 Sept 1970 [17 Sept 1969] 44265/70 Heading E2B A bundling strap 28 comprises a head portion 30 and a tail portion 32 separated by two strip portions 34, 38 extending in different planes, the head portion including an opening with a recess extending in each of the planes, whereby one of the strip portions is insertable in the first recess 47, the strap then forming a loop, the size of which can be reduced by drawing the strip portion through the first recess so that the second strip portion engages in the second recess 40 and is retained therein. A resilient metal tongue 54 projects into the recess 40 and bears upon the strip portion 34 to retain it in the recess. Alternatively the surface of the strip portion 34 is toothed or apertured for engagement with surfaces 41 projecting into the recess 40, or the sides of the strip portion are toothed or notched for engagement with a projection at each side of the recess 41. A plurality of strip portions 34 may alternate with strip portion 38. The tail portion may have various shapes. |
