Thermal analysis appts. utilising the thermoelectric effect and consisting of a main isothermal chamber contg. test piece, two junctions between the test piece and a ref. material, thermocouples measuring the temps. of these junctions and an appts. imposing a given temp. difference (delta T) between them, and outside the chamber, the necessary amplification and recording equipment, is described, where the temp. gradient delta T is produced by a micro-oven inside the chamber at one end of the test piece. Appts. is used as a thermo-resistometer. When the reference conductor A is a pure Al wire, the appts. eliminates the problem of flow due to the low resistance to heat, while, in spite of the presence of a layer of Al2O3, the electrical contacts are not disturbed in any way.
