Connector for flat cable - has contact forks with slits accommodating conductors when cable is pushed down

The connector has an insulating body (2) with chambers (1) containing contacts (5,6). The contacts are identical and each consists of a contact pin at one end and two forks (7,8) with two slits (9,10) at the other end. The planes of the forks are inclined to the straight axis of the insulating body. The flat cable (50) sits in a guide channel (26) in a cable holder (25) and is inclined at the same angle as the planes of the forks. Each slit in the forks accommodates one conductor in the flat cable when the latter is pushed down -- i.e. when the holder is pushed down onto the insulating body.
