<p>The cylinder is in three parts, the first being a pneumatic cylinder operating the piston rod to provide a rapid approach stroke. The third part has a short stroke large diameter piston, its rod forming a small diameter piston and entering the second or central part. This is filled with hydraulic oil and comprises an extension of the main cylinder rod surrounded by a loose piston, having one face subjected to air pressure and its other face pressurising the oil. Air entering the third part transmits high pressure onto the oil and main piston rod to provide the working stroke.</p> |
