The fuel injector body comprises a bore leading to a constriction (16) in the nozzle end (13). A seat (19) above this constriction is for a valve needle which is lifted by the pressure of the fuel as it is supplied. The constricted end (16) of the bore connects with outlet orifices via ducts (27,28). The outlet ends of the orifice ducts are not symmetrically arranged relative to the centre line (26) of the bore. One or more of these ducts are curved (29) so that the entries to the ducts can lie symmetrically around this centre line (26). The curved duct (29) may be produced electrochemically.
|
