PURPOSE:To improve a reliability of machining even for the machining of a work like hollow die with a bottom, by applying the feed movement of a desired shape to a device before its actual machining and electrically detecting the contact between a contact detecting guide and the work. CONSTITUTION:A work 1 for a hollow die is placed for positioning to an XY table before its machining to allow a controller 10 to read a command tape 11 without turning on a machining power source. X-axis, Y-axis and rotary axis drive motors 7, 8, 9 being operated quite the same as at the actual machining, a wire guide 17 or arm 14, if contacted to the work at its machining, can be detected by a short detecting circuit 18. A signal from said short detecting circuit 18 is input to the controller 10 to stop the movement of the XY table and rotary axes. In this way, a failure of the machining and damage of the wire guide can be prevented to enable a highly reliable work of machining. |
