PURPOSE:To avoid too many processes at programming when cutting teeth and to prevent deterioration in finishing accuracy by so constituting an arbor on which a cutter such as a hob is mounted that right-hand or left-hand helical gash gear hob can be mounted without loosening. CONSTITUTION:A right-hand helical gash gear hob 2 is mounted on a taper 1 through a key 6 and is axially positioned by collars 3a, 3b. A nut 4 for a left-hand thread is screwed on a left-hand thread 1a of an arbor 1 to fix a left-hand hob through a washer 5. When cutting teeth in a work W1 with a hob 2, the nut 4 is screwed on the left-hand thread 1a as a means to fix the hob 2 on the arbor 1. Being thus constituted, unfavorable conditions of the existing arbor can be avoided, and the right-hand or the left-hant hob can be mounted without loosening, so that too many processes for programming at cutting teeth can be avoided and finishing accuracy would not be deteriorated. |
