N-(1-(3-BENZOYLPROPYL)-4-PIPERIDYL)-SULFONIC ACID AMIDES AND PROCESSES FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF

This invention relates to novel N-1-(3-benzoylpropyl3-4-piperidyl!-sulphonic acid amides having interesting pharmacological properties. In particular, the novel compounds exhibit an adrenalin antagonistic effect in the absence of amphetamine and apomorphine antagonistic activities, in addition the novel compounds lack or only exhibit weak cataleptic properties and thus may have useful antipyschotic properties with only a very slight effect on the extrapyramidal motor system. Processes for the preparation of the novel compounds are described and exemplified and examples of pharmaceutical compositions containing them are given.
