<p>Power or drive unit for use in deep water comprising (a) a housing for the unit enclosing the power components and filled with a non-compressible fluid (b) a fluid separating and pressure-compensating device connected to the housing, contg. a flexible diaphgram element exposed to the pressure of the surrounding water, and subjected to a counter pressure by the fluid in the housing, (c) means for exerting a force, esp. a spring, on the compensating and fluid separating device, in such a way that this brings the fluid in the housing under pressure to a value which is higher than that of the surrounding water.</p> |
