PURPOSE:To improve the durability, cleanability and electrostatic charge stability of a toner by adhering a colorant, etc., to the surfaces of polymer particles obtd. by emulsion polymn. and by embedding and/or fixing the colorant, etc., in the particles by a mechanical means. CONSTITUTION:A polymerizable monomer such as styrene (deriv.) or (meth) acrylic acid (deriv.) is subjected to emulsion polymn., salting out, dehydration, washing and drying to obtain polymer particles (A). The particle A are mixed with a colorant and/or magnetic powder and further mixed with additives such as an offsetting inhibitor, an electrostatic charge controller and a flowability improver as required. After the colorant, etc., are adhered to the surfaces of the particles A, the particles A are put in a desired mechanical means and the colorant, etc., are embedded and/or fixed in the particles A by impact force or compressive force produced by the collision of the particles A with members such as the inner wall, agitating blades and metal balls and the collision of the particles A with one another. |
