An electrical connector adapted to be secured to an exposed-to-atmosphere electrode end portion, with the connector in turn being adapted to urge one end of an electrical contact means into engagement with the electrode end face. The connector includes retainer means, pressure equalization means and resilient urging means, with the pressure equalization means and the one end of the electrical contact means substantially completely covering the electrode end face.
