PURPOSE:A nontoxic, volatile rust-preventing oil having excellent rust-preventive properties, operability and wide application, prepared by adding an alkyl ester of an amino acid to an oil. CONSTITUTION:To an oil such as a lubricating oil, hindered polyol ester or an organosilicon is added at least 0.1g/l, pref., at least 0.3-3.0g/l of 4-7C alkyl ester of an amino acid, such as alpha-alanine t-butyl ester or glycine t-butyl ester. EFFECT:This volatile rust-preventing oil gives a rust-preventing effect to a layer on which is deposited a water drop in such a manner that the alkyl ester of an amino acid which is a rust-preventing substance penetrates into and contacts with the layer in the form of vapor or solution. USE:Rust prevention in small-sized engines, steel products or nonferrous products such as Al or alumite. |
