PURPOSE:To obtain high fixation efficiency when fixing a lens to the end surface of a semiconductor laser chip by fixing it while monitoring the intensity distribution of a laser radiation pattern with an ITV camera and a monitor TV. CONSTITUTION:On an XYZ microadjusting table 10, is mounted a heat sink 9 with a semiconductor laser chip 1 fixed on its side face, and on the sink, a lens mount 4 with a cylindrical lens 2 fixed also on its side face is mounted, and to the side face of the mount opposing the lens 2a, a lens microadjusting table 5 which can be adjusted with an accuracy within 1mum is contacted. By so doing, the relative positions of the chip 1 and the lens 2 are aligned and the image of this state enlarged by a microscope 6 is formed in an ITV camera 7. Next, applying its output to a monitor TV8, the radiation pattern interference fringes 11 of the chip 1 are produced and the lens microadjusting table 5 is adjusted so that the strength distribution of the radiation pattern appeared there may become optimum. By so doing, angle errors can be sufficiently reduced. |
