PURPOSE:To enable even a write/read controller to write or read data in or out of an ID unit by providing a mode setter, a key group and a motor unit additionally to a write/read controller main body. CONSTITUTION:The article recognizing device is so constituted that the write/ read control main part 4 writes or reads data in or out of the ID unit 2 added to an article 1 through a head part 5 under the command of host control equipment 6 such as a computer. This article recognition system has a motor unit 7 added to the main part 4 of the write/read controller 3. This unit 7 selects a RUN mode and a MONITOR mode. Then, when the RUN mode is selected, the controller 3 performs write or read processing to or from the unit 2 under the command of the equipment 6. Further, when the MONITOR mode is selected, the equipment 6 is disconnected from the device 3, which controls the write/read processing for the unit 2. |
