The machine has at least one tine rotor (2) which is provided with resilient tine groups (82) and which is driven by the power take-off shaft of the tractor (4). The tine groups (82) are controlled during their rotation by a control device (42), in such a way that the tine working parts (85) bear on the ground over a path part located at the front, as seen in the direction of travel (A), whereas they are lifted off from the ground over a path part located at the rear. The control device (42) for the tine groups (82) comprises a control disk (42) which extends obliquely relative to the rotor axis (21) and which pivots the tine groups (82), during their rotation, via linkages. The axis of rotation (21) of the rotor (2) is directed obliquely upwards and rearwards in relation to the direction of travel (A). This design makes it possible to pick up the crop efficiently over the entire front half of the path of the tine groups (82). <IMAGE>
