The vehicle light, has the switch operating element incorporated in the light bulb cover, or in the frame (1) for holding the cover. The outer end projects beyond the cover or the frame and the inner end cooperates with a movable switch contact (16), to raise it out of contact with a fixed switch contact (15). The operating element slides longitudinally relative to the cover (2) or the frame (1). The operating element has inwardly projecting arms each with a nose (25) at its free end which fits behind the cover (2) or the frame (1). Each arm fitting through a slot (23) in the cover (2) or the frame (1) has a length at least equal to the switching path. The inner end (19) of the operating element (17) is bent in the switching direction and cooperates with the bent end of a U-shaped spring (14) the free ends of which provide the two switch contacts (15,16).
