Irrespective of the small amts. of energy available and the variation in their availability, a large number of separate points, linked and to be linked by the town's gas networks, can use already familiar technological processes for producing H2 from water, to exploit the energy of the sun without regard to the geographical region or the time. The gas produced can be put into the town's gas network, used on the site or transported and otherwise distributed, stored and eventually used. New, expensive and very large installations are not necessary.
