IC engine with oscillating piston - has oil release ports from cylinder sectors to sump with wiper lips on piston

The engine has a circular piston (2) which has radially projecting lobes. The lobes oscillate in circular sectors (3) in the cylinder (1a). A crank mechanism (4) controls the movement of the piston. An oil pump (8) in the sump (7) delivers oil through pipes (9) into the sectors (3) where it lubricates the surface of the piston lobes sliding in the sector. Slots (5) in the cylinder sectors open into channels (6) which take the oil back to the sump. The piston lobes have circumferential lips which push oil towards the slots but do not travel far enough to cover the slots. The oil delivery pipes (9) enter through the same slots (5).
