The air humidifier for air conditioning operates on the evaporation principle, fluid being heated and vapourised. Heating is provided by a low-output source in a thin-walled trough (2), which has an evaporation portion (3) where fluid level is at the minimum. This portion is supplied with fluid from a storage portion (4) via a narrow passage (D). The evaporation portion can have inserted in it a non-inflammable mat absorbing the fluid residue and improving evaporation, and whose thickness is greater than the fluid level. Glow plugs can form the heat source.
