<p>A holder to be mounted on a glass pane or a frame, facilitates the assembly of synthetic films, esp. laminated films with air cavities to the walls or roofs of glasshouses and other structures. The holder has a fixing flange with a projection supporting a head some little distance from the flange; the head being designed to pierce the film, and having for pref. two surfaces aligned towards the flange. A clamping detail is also provided which can be pressed between the head and the flange. This has the form of a bolt with for pref. two shoulders forming a wedge which engage with the flats beneath the head, and clamp the pierced film against the flange. For pref. the bolt has an opening through which the projecting head can pass. The opening has sides opposing each other and acting as shoulders above which the head projects. The bolt can then be pushed into the space between the flange and the surfaces beneath the head. Used as a means of securing synthetic films and esp. laminated insulating films on the outside of greenhouses, etc. whilst ensuring that the wind does not tear them from the fastenings. The films are fastened without the distortion and weakening of the film caused by screwing caps on to fixing studs. The films can be speedily fitted and dismantled, and the equipment is esp. suited to very large glass panes.</p> |
