摘要 1295899 Restoring to shape; working at specified temperature CHROMALLOY AMERICAN CORP 11 Dec 1970 [9 March 1970] 59127/70 Headings B3Q [Also in Division C7] A heated nozzle guide-vane 37, Fig. 1, for a gas turbine is restored to original form by clamping its aerofoil section between heated dies, 20, 21 to conform the section to the dies, the buttress ends 33, 34 of the vane extending freely outside the dies, and then re-orientating the butress ends relatively to the clamped aerofoil. The heated vane is placed on the raised lower die 21 so that the ends 33, 34 are clear of pads 35, 36. An upper platen 10 carrying the die 20 is then lowered by pistons 27, 28 until stops 29-32 engage. Re-forming pressure is applied to the upper die 20 by a piston 25, and after a suitable interval the clamped vane is lowered for re-forming the ends 33, 34, against pads 35, 36, by relieving pressure behind the lower piston 26. The dies 20, 21 are loosely mounted on the die-holders 18, 19 by bolts 22, 23 and pin 24. The press may be controlled by a timer (41), Fig. 6 (not shown), including rotating cams for operating solenoid valves. Upper pads (not shown) may be carried on supports 10A, 10B for pressing against the tops of the buttress-ends 33, 34. In this case, after the aerofoil section has been clamped between the dies, Fig. 6A (not shown), the assembley is lowered until the buttresses engage the lower pads 35, 26 after which the upper platen is further lowered to engage the upper pads (53) against the buttresses. Hot workings.-A vane containing by weight 11À0% W., 1À75% Fe, 0À45% C and balance Co may be worked at 1700-1900‹ F. in dies of 0À6%W, 18À5% Fe, 0À20% C, 9À0% Mo, 1À5% Co, 22% Cr and balance Ni, solnoids are heated to 1600-1800‹ F.
