发明名称 CONNECTING METHOD FOR OPTICAL FIBER
摘要 PURPOSE:To perform adhesion easily and efficiently by inserting 2 optical fibers to be connected, from both the ends of a pipe whose inside diameter is a little larger than the outside diameter of the former, placing an ultraviolet ray hardening adhesive agent which has been inserted beforehand, between them, pressing them, and hardening the adhesive by transmitting ultraviolet rays from the other end. CONSTITUTION:A quartz fiber 2 of the outside diameter which is a little thinner than the inside diameter of a pipe is inserted from both the sides of a stainless steel pipe or a synthetic resin pipe 1 whose hardness is large. An ultraviolet ray hardening adhesive is inserted beforehand in the center of the pipe 1. The adhesive is applied between the two fibers, they are pressed, and they are hardened by transmitting ultraviolet rays or N2 laser rays and applying them to the adhesive part. In this case, a remaining adhesive in case the quartz fibers 2 have been press-contacted is made to overflow from the discharge port 3. In this regard, loss of rays is decreased by using synthetic resin or glass for the pipe 1, and making its refractive index smaller than the refractive index of the adhesive. In this way, the adhering work can be performed easily and efficiently.
