<p>PURPOSE:To realize a lightweight and miniature unit by boring alternate exhaust holes and air supply holes in one side wall, parallel to the tape face of a vacuum column, along the longer direction of a tape. CONSTITUTION:Suction intakes 101 and 102 for a magnetic tape opposing to supply side reel 1 and take-up side reel 2 are provided, and in one side wall parallel to the face of magnetic tape 3 in vacuum column 10, exhaust holes 103 and air supply holes 104 are arranged alternately while the air exhaust quantity is made greater than the air supply quantity. In this constitution, even when magnetic tape 3 shown by the dotted line is sucked to any position in vacuum column 10, balance can be kept, and consequently the buffer extent substantially double the conventional extent can be obtained, so that responses to the sudden start and stop of the magnetic tape unit can stably be maintained.</p> |
