<p>1291102 Valves SPERRY RAND Ltd 21 Jan 1970 [21 Jan 1969] 3277/69 Heading F2V A spool valve that can be reciprocated between two extreme positions to control the actuation of a double-acting cylinder, comprises at least one diaphragm spring 25 or 26, fitted to the spool and anchored in a chamber 16 or 17, at its periphery between an end cap 5 or 6, and the valve body 1, the cross-sectional area of the spring exceeding that of the chamber such that, when the spool is in either extreme position, the diaphragm is deformed into a cup shape to resist axial displacement away from that position. In the Figure, the spool is moved by fluid-pressure supplied to the connections 14 or 15, and acting on the ends of the spool via apertures (27), Fig. 2, not shown, in the diaphragm. The spool may be moved manually, mechanically or electro-mechanically.</p> |
