-------------------------- The invention relates to an improved gelatine explosive composition which has a marked reduction in the quantities of liquid nitric esters and blasting soluble nitrocotton content. The composition is comprised essentially of mixtures of nitric esters like nitroglycerine and/or nitro glycol, orthonitro toluene, blasting soluble nitrocotton, oxidizing salts such as ammonium nitrate, fuels such as wood meal and/or waxed wood meal. The gelatine explosive composition contains at least one dispersing agent and, if desired, a water proofing agent such as tamarind seed flour or guar gum.
