PURPOSE:To improve the light load operation of an X-ray device by adding a smoothing circuit and controlling the duty of a chopping transistor to restrain the overshoot of a high voltage output. CONSTITUTION:A direct current source 2 is added to an invertor which comprises transistors 1, 1' and a transformer 6 through a chopping transistor 12, smoothing circuit 17, and choke transformer 3 to drive an X-ray tube 10. The duty is controlled to increase gradually during operation of the chopping transistor 12 by controlling a pulse width modulator 9 with the output from an integrator 20, the inductance of the circuit is increased with the smoothing circuit 17, and a charge- discharge controlling circuit 18 to apply a prescribed charge on a capacitor 16 is provided. Thus the leading edge characteristics of the high voltage output waveform is greatly improved, and a sufficient characteristics can be obtained even under a light load. |
