PURPOSE:To make it possible to remove NOx efficiently, by a method wherein NH3 is added to an exhaust gas consisting of NOx, dusts containing an alkali or the like, and the obtained gas is contacted with a catalyst comprising a specific component composition such as TiO2 or V to inhibit the poisoning of a catalyst due to the above-described dusts. CONSTITUTION:In a method of adding NH3 to an exhaust gas consisting of NOx, SO2 and dust containing an alkali and an alkaline earth metal compound and removing by converting NOx to N on a catalyst, a catalyst obtained by coating a mixture containing 25-96wt% of TiO2 and 1-72wt% of at least one oxide of V, W, Cr, Fe and Cu by 3-30wt% MO oxide is used. Moreover, this catalyst is formed into a particulate form and a fluidized bed type reactor is used or said catalyst is molded in a monolithic form to reduce the contact between dusts and the catalyst and to inhibit an alkali metal compound or the like from migrating and, thereby, the poisoning of the catalyst is prevented. |
