PURPOSE:To prevent smearing on recording paper immediately after charge phase retrieve, by neutralizing charging to cancel the charge of transfer printing charge polarity that has been induced by the charge of preceding opposite polar charged ink particles immediately after phase retrieve completion. CONSTITUTION:To a central control unit 23 composed of a microcomputer system including an interface and provided with a transfer print neutralizing signal generator 21 and a retrieve neutralizing signal generator 20 immediately after phase retrieve is given an output signal of the retrieve neutralizing signal generator 20 when the prescribed number of ink particles are being formed at a charge electrode 7 through an analogue gate 18 and an amplifier 16, and thereafter a control logic, by which an output charge signal of a charge signal generator 15 is changed to a transfer print recording mode that will be applied to the charge electrode 7 through the analogue gate 18 and the amplifier 16, is set up as a program. Thus, to few ink particles that will possible swarve from a gutter 10 and collide with a recording paper 11 is carried out neutralizing charging to cancel their induced charge, so that smearing on the recording paper 11 is prevented. |
