PURPOSE:To increase ink jet efficiency and to facilitate cleaning and filling of ink, by supplying a fluid into a space within a cylindrical electrostriction vibrator through a hollow cylinder and a hollow support member to which one end of the hollow cylinder is fixed on a ink liquid chamber side. CONSTITUTION:Ink is fed into an ink chamber 1a via a pipe 2 connected to a housing 1 defining the ink chamber 1a. To the housing 1 is secured one end of a cylindrical electrostrictive vibrator 3. The electrostrictive vibrator 3 is comprised such that to an inner surface and an outer surface of a cylindrical piezoelement are laminated electrodes 3a, 3b, respectively, and they are covered with insulators. To a tip of the electrostrictive vibrator 3 is bonded a nozzle plate 4 in which is formed an ink jet outlet 4a having a small inner diameter which in turn is communicated with the ink chamber through an ink passage within the electrostrictive vibrator 4a. When a voltage is applied between the electrodes 3a and 3b, the electrostrictive vibrator 3 is constricted to cause the ink to be jetted from the ink jet outlet 4a. |
