PURPOSE:To make a saddle for a bicycle, a motorbike and the like efficiently, by vacuum forming of a composite sheet consisting of a surface material and a foam sheet adhered thereto, and by injection molding of a rigid synthetic resin onto a rear surface of the composite sheet to obtain a desired integral saddle. CONSTITUTION:Onto a surface material 1 (for example a flexible sheet of flexible polyvinyl chloride) is adhered a foam sheet 2 having exposed permeable interstices to form a composite sheet 3, the composite sheet 3 is then placed on a mold 5, and while the composite sheet 3 is heated by a heating means 6, a vacuum is applied inside the mold 5 through vacuum ports 4 to subject the composite sheet 3 to vacuum forming and to obtain a saddle main body 8. Then the resulting saddle main body 8 is fitted into a mold 5a (which can be replaced by the mold 5 as it is), and after an injection molding closed mold 10 is placed on the mold 5a, inside the molding space thus formed is injected a thermosetting resin (for example polypropylene) to fill it, so that the resin is integrated with the saddle main body 8 to obtain a desired saddle. |
