<p>PURPOSE:To keep the treating performance of biomembrane constant for a longperiod of time by using a nonwoven fabric of a synthetic resin fiber as a filter bed to which a biomembrane containing an aerobic bacteria is adhered in the clarification of polluted water containing organics by a biomembrane contact oxidation method. CONSTITUTION:A supporting bar 6 of a zig-zag form is provided inside a polluted water treatment tank 1, and the filter bed material 7 consisting of a 0.5-8mm. thick nonwoven fabric of the synthetic resin fiber, e.g., nylon fiber, polyester fiber, polyvinyl chloride fiber, etc., is laid on the supporting bar 6 in a mutually horizontal arrangement or a zig-zag arrangement at an angle of 0.5-30 deg.. And, the biomembrane containing aerobic bacteria is adhered to the surface of the filter bed material 7. The polluted water W to be treated is flowed from an inlet 3 into the treatment tank 1 and at the same time air is injected from an air injection pipe 5 into the tank 1, where oxygen-dissolved polluted water W comes into contact with the biomembrane of the filter bed 7, whereby organics, etc., present is oxidized, clarified, and discharged from an outlet 4. Since the filter bed material, made of a synthetic resin fiber nonwoven fabric, has a large voids of to 60-95% and good water and gas permeability, the treating performance of the biomembrane can be kept for a long period of time.</p> |
