PURPOSE:To control necessary units synchronously with simple structure, by controlling synchronous movement of the first and second units associated with each other, such as a photoreceptor and an optical scanner in accordance with the result of specified operation of voltage corresponding to speed change. CONSTITUTION:Phase comparator 1 compares phases of pulses oscillated by oscillator OSC1 to those of photoreceptor movement speed detection pulses of sensor PS1 through D type FF, and generates pulses Sa, Sb of width corresponding to coming sooner or later due to speed fluctuation of the photoreceptor. Integration circuit II generates voltage Ve corresponding to photoreceptor speed fluctuation in accordance with these pulses Sa or Sb, and applies it to addition circuit 3. On the other hand, voltage Vf corresponding to detection speed of an optical scanner and set speed Vr, etc. are also applied to circuit III, operation based on equation I is made, the scanner speed is controlled by the set speed of the first term of equation I and speed fluctuation of the photoreceptor of its second term, thus permitting the 2 units to be synchronously controlled with an simple electric structure.
