The lever 16 is secured to a ball 18 in a socket 19 from which extend throw arms 20, 21 at right angles to each other. Pivoting of the arm 20 about the axis 23 of the arm 21, Fig. 2, permitted by guide slats 24, 25 in the socket 19 actuates a first push-cable transmission 35 while twisting of the arm 21 about the axis 22 of the arm 20, permitted by guide slots 26, 29 actuates a second push-cable transmission 60. Centring devices 75, 76 urge the control lever to a neutral position while retaining means 95 can hold the arm 20 displaced in one direction. Contact buttons 119 on the arms 20, 21 and a centring arm 28 engage contact arms 109, 110, 118 of switching means 108 when the lever 16 is displaced. As described the lever 16 controls the elevation and twisting of a snowplough blade 126 mounted on a vehicle 125 by a compound frame 128 actuated by piston cylinder devices 134-136 actuated by a pump valve unit 138. Movement of the arm 20 to push the transmission 35 and make the contact 118 starts the pump of the unit 138 by the making of the switch 108 and sets the valve so as to cause the cylinder 134 to raise the blade 126 until release of the lever 16 locks it in the raised position. Opposite movement simply opens the valve allowing the blade to fall through its weight and if the arm 20 is retained by the means 95 allowing it to float in a lowered position. Movement of the arm 21 in either direction will similarly cause the unit 138 to be operated to correspondingly twist the blade 126 by actuation of the cylinders 135, 136. |
