PURPOSE:To improve measurement precision of a moisture measuring method for paper, by correcting an influence of a change in raw-material blending rate by use of the ratio of an R signal of the transmitted-light-quantity signal (R signal) of a reference sample as to reference light to that of a real sample. CONSTITUTION:From the sensor, the R signal of a real sample and the transmitted- light-quantity signal (M signal) of measured light are obtained to generate an M/R signal. On the basis of (M/R)-(MW/R0) (MW is moisture content and R0 is the ratio of R signal R2 of the reference sample to R signal R1 of the real sample) stored previously in the memory unit, value MW/R0 is obtained and while the current R signal is denoted as R1, R2 is obtained to find the ratio of the both, by which MW/ R0 is multiplied to measure moisture content MW. Therefore, relative value R0 is used for the correction arithmetic of an influence of the raw-material blending rate of paper in moisture content measurement, and consequently an influence of variation of characteristics of the sensor, etc., so that the measurement precision can be improved. |
