PURPOSE:To make the sheet to be adhered on the surface of a drum with no lag by method wherein a holding pawl is peressed by a press roller just after the holding holds the front end of the sheet in order to close it positively in a clamping device including the sheet holding pawl parallel to a drum shaft. CONSTITUTION:When a drum 20 is rotated and comes into a position of A with a sheet holding pawl 23 opened, a sheet S is supplied through a pair of feed rollers 69 synchronously with that rotational movement and its front end Sa is brought into abutment with a stopper 25. Next, passing under a press roller 64, the holding pawl 23 is closed so that the front end of the sheet S is fixedly clamped. Then, when air is sucked through suction holes 36 under a suction force applied via a suction hose 54, a pipe shaft 49 and a suction pipe 39, the sheet S is adhered on the surface of the drum and further the holding pawl 23 is also sucked and pressed on the rest openings of the suction holes 36. Thereafter, when the rear end of the sheet S comes over and closes suction holes 52, it is similarly adhered on the surface of the drum by a suction force applied on the suction holes 52 through a suction hose 56. |
