PURPOSE:To prepare a printing plate high in precision in a short time, by developing with a toner an electrostatic latent image obtained from an original, transferring the developed toner image to a photosensitive printing plate, and forming a printing plate using this toner image as a mask. CONSTITUTION:A photoreceptor preferably made of a chalcogenide compound is scanned by light in accordance with image information having original data to form an electrostatic latent image corresponding to the image (steps A, B, C), said latent image is developed with a toner (step D), and the adhesive photosensitive resin laye of a printing plate material is passed between a pair of pressing roller in close contact with said photoreceptor to transfer the obtained toner image to said printing plate material (step E). Then, using the transferred toner image as a mask the plate material is uniformly exposed to light by the ordinary method, and developed by dissolution treatment to form a printing plate of 1-3,000mu depth. |
