PURPOSE:To obtain the reactor requiring no reconstruction of dust, formation of notched portion, etc., by slantly arranging the catalyst layer inside a vertical type duct at which an upper duct and a lower dust are in contact with each other without forming waste gas traps inside the duct. CONSTITUTION:The catalyst layer 2a is slantly probided inside the vertical type duct 10 connecting the uppr duct 1 with the lower duct 3 in such a way that the catalyst layer 2a can gradually reduce the sectional area of the duct 1 and also can gradually increase the sectional area of the duct 3. In the reactor, waste gas G in the duct 1 is sent to the catalyst layer 2a and introduced into the layer 2a by an upper rectifying plate 4a for accelerating reactions, and then the waste the gas G coming out of the catalyst layer 2a is directed into the lower duct 3 by a lower rectifying plate 5a, where on deposition of dust occurs on the right-hand end portion of the duct 3, or the dust-trapping area usually. Thus, the lowering of flow rate of the waste gas can be prevented without needs to install partition plate, porous plate, etc., and therefore the deposition of dust can be greatly lessened. |
