PURPOSE:To prevent quenching due to grinding by shortening the range that the cutting edge surface is ground at every revolution of a flat abrasive wheel by feeding the wheel and a hob vertically in parallel to an oblique slide of the cutting edge surface. CONSTITUTION:An edge 102 of borazon or a diamond is provided on a conical surface 104 of a flat abrasive wheel 101. The conical surface 104 faces the cutting edge surface 106 of the cutting groove of the hob 105, and the edge 102 contacts the cutting edge surface 106. The cutting edge surface 106 makes an acute angler with the center of axis 107 of the flat abrasive wheel which turns around the center of axis 107 while being fed in parallel to an oblique slide 108 of the cutting edge surface 106 which is ground in circular arc shape. Accordingly, as the range 109 that the cutting edge surface 106 is ground during one revolution of the wheel 101 can be shortened, the quenching due to grinding can be prevented. |
