PURPOSE:To improve service by making it possible to insert character information into an arbitrary position in the facsimile signal and communicate information, by adding a signal type and a memory position signal to the code for information conversion and the facsimile signal. CONSTITUTION:The code for information conversion input from code input part 3 of transmission unit 1 is supplied to memory part 5 through control part 4 and is edited with display part 6. A discrimination signal is added to the code for information conversion of memory part 5 and the facsimile signal from picture read part 7 by segmenting part 10 respectively, and they are transmitted through control part 11 and modulating part 12 according to prescribed transmission procedures. At this time, the signal indicating the information position is inserted. In receiving unit 2, the code for information conversion and the facsimile signal are discriminated from each other in 14 on a basis of the discrimination signal, and the code is stored in memory 15, and picture synthesizing part 19 discriminates the position signal to supply the facsimile signal to recording part 20. |
