There is described an electro-optical, crystalline-liquid cell for electrical time displays. It contains a nematic liquid comprising a mixture of p-n-propylbenzylidene-p'-cyanoaniline and p-n-hexylbenzylidene-p'-cyanoaniline and from 5 to 50% by weight of at least one p-n-C1-8-alkylbenzylidene-p'-n-C1-8-alkoxyaniline or from 5 to 50% by weight of p-methoxybenzylidene-p'-n-butylaniline, p-ethoxybenzylidene-p'-n-butylaniline, p-methoxybenzylidene-p'-n-heptylaniline, p-ethoxybenzylidene-p'-n-heptylaniline or a mixture thereof. The advantage is a low threshold voltage at clock ratio 3/4 and a high threshold voltage at clock ratio 1/4.
