PURPOSE:To continuously and accurately measure the temperature of a rotor winding, by subtracting the voltage drop across exciting brushes to determine the real voltage drop across the rotor winding. CONSTITUTION:Power is supplied to a rotor winding 5 through a pair of exciting brushes 3A, 3B. An exciting current measuring unit 6 is connected between the source of the power and the brushes 3A, 3B. A series circuit comprising a Zener diode 13 and resistors 14, 15 is connected across the brushes 3A, 3B to subtract the nonlinear voltage drop across the brushes. The resistance of the rotor winding 5 can be measured from the voltage drop and an exciting current to determine the temperature of the rotor winding 5. |
