The packing container comprises two mirror-symmetrical, essentially circular parts (4, 5) which are injection-moulded from plastic. Provided in the flat supporting base are hinge-pin guides which are connected to one another by a hinge pin. The circumferential edges, which abut against one another, of the two parts (4, 5) are toroidally reinforced (20, 21). The carrying handle is formed on the upper part of the two reinforced circumferential edges, over an opening through which the carrying handle is grasped. For the purpose of closing the container there are attached to the edges of flat surfaces (7, 8) which delimit the opening at the bottom and belong to the two container parts (4, 5) closure clips (9, 10) and closure studs (13, 14). In order to ensure that the closure clips (9, 10) and closure studs (13, 14) engage in one another securely, guide elements which engage conically in one another are arranged in the circumferential edges, forming the carrying handle, of the two parts (4, 5). <IMAGE>
