Increasing aromatic hydrocarbon content - of fractions containing n-hexane and n-heptane by removing n-paraffins

The aromatic content of a hydrocarbon fraction with (a) is not 65 wt.% aromatics, (b) octane number is not 100, (c) is not 1 wt.% n-hexane, (d) is not 0.5 wt.% n-heptane, (e) wt. ratio of n-pentaned n-hexane is not >3, and (f) wt. ratio of n-hexane: n-heptane is not >10, is increased by removing at least a part of the n-paraffins by selective hydrocracking. The hydrocarbon fraction is obtd. by reforming paraffinic hydrocarbons under severe conditions.
