<p>Paint, for metal, compatible with welding, consists of Zn powder, Al paste, a binder a solvent. The binder is chosen from alkyd, phenolic or epoxide resins, and the ratio of pigment/binder is of the order of 1.5. Light solvents, such as ethyl acetate or methylethyl ketone, and heavy solvents, such as monoethylene glycolmonoethylether, are used. Stabilizers such as triethylamine, and anti-sedimentation agents such as organophite-modified clays, are added. The Zn and Al particles have a dia. 40 mu. The paints pref. contain 20-40% of alkyd resin, 5-10% of epoxide resin, 40-60% of Zn powder and 5-20% of Al paste. Used as an undercoat for automobile bodies.</p> |
