<p>The wind powered plant consists of a pair of propellers of different diameter and set on individual shafts. Both shafts are connected with one another in a manner whereby a bevel gear on the solid rotor shaft, and another bevel gear on the hollow rotor shaft both drive an intermediate bevel gear. This intermediate gear is situated at the top of a shaft, whose axis is vertical to the common axes of both rotor shafts, and is inside a support column and is mounted in a bearing are either end. The whole housing for the gears and rotor shafts is rotatable in a horizontal plane. The lower end of the drive shaft has a further pair of bevel gears which can drive a pump, generator or similar. The relative speed between stator and rotor is constant when this type of drive is used.</p> |
