The two-part clip shuts off a passage inside a human or animal organ, and comprises two jaws held at a constant distance apart. The two jaws are detachably secured together by hooks (3) at the ends, and are of rigid construction at their clamping faces (4). One jaw (1) can have holders (2) at each end at right angles to the clamping face, with lugs protruding inwards so as to engage in recesses in the ends of the other jaw, and in which catches are formed. Alternatively the lugs can protrude outwards, being distorted inwards elastically so as to engage in holes in the other jaw.
