<p>A segment of the transparent PMMA pipe protecting the heat absorbing pipe through which the heat conveying medium flows, in a collector for solar energy, is designed to have the action of lenses and esp. Fresnel lenses, which concentrate the light on to the absorbing pipe. The segment of the protecting pipe opposite to the lenses is made into mirrors, and the absorbing pipe has a flattened cross-section with a width four times its depth. The absorbing pipe is arranged along the focussing line of the mirror segments on supports having a poor conductivity for heat such as PTFE. The collector concentrates as much sunlight as possible on to the absorbing pipe without high reflection losses and too large a mirror surface, so that it is compact and small.</p> |
