The machine ensures that the brush bodies (5) are in the correct position relative to the position of the holes being drilled. A positioning system is used where the brush body (5) to be processed serves as the template mould element and has its work side (7) scanned in each processing position. This scanned position valve is then transferred to one or several workpiece holders (4) and/or the processing mechanisms. The scanner (17) is displaceable parallel to the work motion of the drilling and plugging tool and in the operative position lies with its scanning face (19) adjoining the surface (7) of the brush body.
